By accessing or using OpenVetMed ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

OpenVetMed is an AI-powered veterinary knowledge platform designed to assist veterinary professionals with clinical information, diagnostic guidance, drug information, and treatment protocols. The Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to provide responses based on veterinary medical literature and knowledge bases.

3. Medical Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: OpenVetMed is intended as a reference tool for licensed veterinary professionals only. The information provided by this Service:

  • Is NOT a substitute for professional veterinary judgment, clinical examination, or diagnostic testing
  • Should NOT be used as the sole basis for treatment decisions
  • May contain errors, omissions, or outdated information
  • Does NOT establish a veterinarian-client-patient relationship

You acknowledge that veterinary medicine requires professional judgment that considers the specific circumstances of each case. Always verify information through primary sources and use your professional expertise when making clinical decisions.

4. User Responsibilities

As a user, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
  • Not share patient-identifying information or other protected health information through the Service
  • Not attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service
  • Not use the Service to generate content that is harmful, misleading, or violates any laws or regulations

5. Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use the Service to:

  • Provide veterinary advice to the general public without appropriate licensure
  • Generate false or misleading veterinary medical content
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or professional standards
  • Infringe upon intellectual property rights of others
  • Transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts or system resources
  • Use automated means to access the Service without our express permission

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by OpenVetMed and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, but grant us a license to use, store, and process that content to provide and improve the Service.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OPENVETMED AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US, IF ANY, FOR ACCESS TO THE SERVICE DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless OpenVetMed and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or related to your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any rights of another party.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated Terms on the Service with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
